Plant Spacing

 

There are two easy ways to determine how many plants per square foot with Square Foot Gardening. It depends on how big or nutrient dependent a plant will get.

Easy Way #1 - The seed packet will tell you.

1 per square foot: plants that are planted 12 inches apart
4 per square foot: plants that are planted 6 inches apart
9 per square foot: plants that are planted 4 inches apart
16 per square foot: plants that are planted 3 inches apart
